Hi,,,hmmm my last post got lost in cyberspace. So, this is
Bruce checking in after having our website down for a few days. Looks like everything is cool. Our band is taking a break from performing to finish wrapping up our first CD. Plans are to begin performing again by March or April 2015. Hope to see you then.
Yeah, that's right....Band of My Dreams! I've been in a few (bands over the last 45 years or so!) Never had the kind of fun that i have playing music w/Susanne, Joey, Bruce, and Travis. Some times when we play together i feel like i am 4 years old, the thrill of the ride for me is altogether joyful beyond belief. Many times it is hard to get me to take a break, or stop when the evening is over! (i must seem like a pain in the ass when others are tired and ready to quit)~ We have an ease of relationship among us where we listen to and respect each others ideas, opinions, and criticisms, we share food and fun, and often have really long rehearsals. We Love each other!
Part of the fun for me is that i get to color the music experience with my sounds. I play mostly percussion, sometimes drum set, harmonica on some tunes, and guitar on some tunes... what a gas! As a percussionist my parts are mainly ad lib which i do pretty easily. My harp and guitar outings are sometimes more structured, and i often get to solo too, or sometimes, just riff through a whole song!
Folks really seem to dig what we do......... mostly dance tunes and of many genres. Styles from blues, to tango, to Cajun, to rock, to world music, and more. Zambamboogee has a number of high quality originals too written by Susanne, Joey, and Bruce.
So we are going to venture into doing some recording over the next couple of months. We need demo material, and songs of ours that others can carry with them and listen to. I look forward to what is next in our band process.
Stay tuned to our live performances and the outcome of our recording adventure!..... Scotty (Scoobamboogee)
We had a great gig at the Bynum Front Porch on June 1st, 2012. Lively energetic crowd that really shook the house with their dancing. We played inside instead of the outside venue because of inclement weather threatening us...but it all turned out good...not too hot and the weather mostly held out to the very end of the night. The band really had fun and we got a lot of positive feedback.
March 19, 2012...thanks for coming by and checking out our band page...it's brand new and in a developmental stage.
We had a wonderful gig in Siler City last Friday playing outside for the 3rd Friday Art Event. The rains held out and we got to play outside to a very lively group who were dancing, whooping it up and having a good time. I really enjoyed playing in this setting...sound on and off stage was the super thanks to Geo DeSocio for his excellent sound work....Bruce
